Welcome to Grace Youth. At Grace Youth you will not simply find a version of the church designed for teens. You will encounter the real church and authentic leaders who desire to share the life giving hope of Jesus.

Grace Youth is not a program for teens designed by adults. It is a community of teens driven by teens who have had encountered Jesus and have had a transformed life because of the hope they found in Jesus. Our leaders are present with the teens as mentors and living examples of what it means to follow Jesus. We do not force religion on students. Instead we invite them to join us on a journey to discover what it means to be light in the darkness.

We are Jesus centered with teachings directly from the Bible. We believe in partnering with parents as we engage their children and meeting both where they are. You do not have to be perfect to be a part of the journey. We have a goal of sending out high school graduates from our area to impact the world with a message of hope.

Join us Wednesday nights 5:30-7:30

History

Sam grew up in Jackson, MN and Ocheyedan, IA. He attended Bethel University and moved back to the area in 2014. He started at Grace Community Church in 2015 as the Student Ministries Director. Sam is married to Emily and they have two sons, Jonah and Micah.

Interests and Hobbies

Sam enjoys taking road trips with his family off the beaten path. He loves extreme sports including backcountry skiing, mountain biking, and rock climbing. Sam also enjoys being apart of custom car culture.

Passions

Sam is passionate about meeting young people where their are and teaching them about Jesus in a way that makes sense to them. He believes that too often students miss the message of Jesus because we expect them to walk into our church and understand our language.

He is a self proclaimed potentialist. He has a passion to see everyone, especially young people, reach the maximum potential. He believes our maximum potential is achieved when we follow Jesus and learn what our God given gifts our purposes are.

Romans 12:2 (NLT) has had a big impact on Sam’s life.

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
